Hello ICLW!!

Hello to anyone who ventures over for ICLW (international comment leaving week/ IComLeavWe.) This is my first time participating in ICLW. I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to find others (blogs) that are in the same boat as me, plus allow people into my journey.

So, WELCOME!! Thank you for coming, and thank you in advance for commenting. I look forward to hearing what you all have to say, as well as learning about you and your journeys. I will post a little about me, so you will learn a little about my journey now. However, please do read my past posts, as they have all the details and they will give you mush more insight into who I am and what my journey has been like.

In a nutshell, I ttc for 8 years (and 2 husbands) before tests showed that both my tubes were blocked. Ivf would be my only chance at getting pregnant. G (my hubby) and I did ivf in June 2008 and it failed. I then had surgery in August 2008 and had both my tubes removed. After waiting 6 weeks to recover, we went back to the RE. We decided to do a fet, and on Nov 1st, 2008 transferred in 3 snow babies. 1 stuck, and our beautiful miracle baby girl, Kiwi, was born in July 2009. We are so blessed to have her in our lives, she is now almost 17 months old. We are planning on starting the ivf process again in March of 2011. This time we have decided to do pgd for gender selection, so we can complete our family with the addition of a boy. Once we get the bfp results from March's ivf cycle, we are planning on placing any remaining embryos from that cycle (as well as the 2 we still have frozen from June 2008) for adoption, via embryo adoption. I currently am looking for the right couple to raise our embryos.

Please feel free to comment honestly and ask anything you want. I will reply as promptly as I can, with the same honesty. Thank you again for stopping by. Feel free to follow me, I'd love to have some new friends on this journey.

  3. Congratulations on your little girl!!

I hope you manage to add another to your family next year, though I'm not a fan of gender selection, especially when there are so many who would just be happy with ANY baby, regardless of sex, no judgement just my thoughts.

  4. Miss Ruby, I completely understand your point on the pgd for gender. Many people feel the same way you do. I don't know if you had the chance to read my previous posts. I originally was against any form of medical help. I felt that if God wanted me to get pregnant, I would. I agreed to ivf bc G wanted a boy, with his own bloodline. For that reason, I feel that I should do anything I can for that to happen. Plus (a BIG plus) I don't feel comfortable doing ivf a ton of times. I don't feel comfortable making more embryos and then not using them. Meaning, if this time we didn't use pgd (in March) and we had another girl, then we'd have to do it again later for G's boy....making more embryos. I hope that makes since. Would I be happy to have another girl, YES!!! Would I love another girl...YES!!!!

  5. Congrats on your beautiful daughter!! She is very adorable :) I understand the wanting a child of the opposite gender that you have. I have 4 boys, whom I love dearly, but my heart has always wanted my own little girl. Apparently it was never in the cards for us. 5+ years of secondary infertility and some years after that ... 2 husbands...... 4 boys, and 14 miscarriages .. I would love to "try one more time" however my husband got the bridge to spermland cut and burned while I was pregnant with our 2nd son together (my 4th) ... but miscarriage #14 happened this past 4th of July ... so apparently they repaired the bridge, at least a little. LOL.. Regardless, I still long for that little girl, but ... it's not in the cards.

    Good LUCK in March!!

Happy ICLW from #37 and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

  10. Hello
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Congrats on your Miracle "Kiwi", and best wishes & lots of sticky baby dust on your next IVF.
We did PGD in 2006 (fairly new) and it was determined that it may have slowed down the growth of the embryo. I think PGD has changed since then, so I hope that it works our out for you for your boy.
Looking forward to following your journey.

  11. Wow, PGD seems to be a sensitive subject. I guess I'll just wish you all the best in 2011.
